I know he did "Harry Potter" but I've never seen any of those movies. His role in "Space Quest" was spot-on what I think he got in the real world sometimes. And in "Dogma" he had some of the best lines in the movie.

He was in some of my favorite movies. I wouldn't have guessed he was 69.
Another Brit at 69 of cancer. RIP Professor Snape

I just said on the Facebooks that first Lemmy, then Bowie, now Alan Rickman. Yet Justin Bieber lives on. No justice...
It has been a bad year for British entertainers.
Hans Gruber was my role model. This sucks.

Forget Bieber, saw in the news this morning that Robert Mugabe's government is denying rumors that he had a heart attack. Still alive at 91.
I read about it on TimeMagazine.com...

"Cut your heart out with a SPOON"
That's sad news. I never saw a Harry Potter movie (and until a minute ago didn't realize he was part of them) but he made Die Hard. Like Goldfinger, it's just such a perfect duel between the hero and the villain.
I watched CBGB the other night. I know that it got poor reviews, but Rickman made it worth watching.
Hans, we'll miss you.

He was also probably the only good reason to watch the Kevin Costner version of Robin Hood. "And cancel Christmas!"
Slefain means "Galaxy Quest," and he's right. RIP, Mr. Rickman. I'm going to go see if there's a pub.
He will be missed. Hans Gruber, Metatron, Alexander Dane, his skills were awesome. For those of you who respected his other work, it's worth watching the Harry Potter movies just for his part at Snape. The way he put emotion into the character and how he developed it over the films showed his talent as an actor.

Over here you may not be familiar with 'Truly, Madly, Deeply'. A British sort of 'ghost' but better and super low budget.
Made in 1991 in 28 days flat for only $650K It may 'only be' a romantic drama, but he was excellent in that.

Potter. Diehard. Sure. ...but then there's Dogma.
He was the voice of Marvin
He was good in Quigley Down Under.

The movie was "Galaxy Quest." Rickman had been cast in a few too many "heavy" roles up to that point so he jumped at the chance to be funny. He overshot that mark and was a riot. A very funny turn in one of the most underrated laugh-out-loud funny movies in a long time.

Came here to post about that movie, actually. Been a real fan ever since. Sad news.

I must be the only person on Earth who thinks it's "by Grapthar's hammer". RIP, Mr. Rickman. You were great in, well, everything.
