LOL
Thanks for returning the favor, from one who's edited your stuff ;) No matter who you are, typos happen. That's why another set of eyes is always useful. (And in my defense, that was sent from my phone, and I don't actually do a lot of editing on a phone. We gots big fancy laptops for that type o'work.)

Also look at the recent MotorTrend piece comparing the 4cyl pony cars for a prime example of cooking the books....they ran the Mustang on 87 octane(which will cause loss of maximum power) and then promptly bitched about its performance.....
I bought a lifetime subscription to rodders journal so I only pay for GRM and CM now. Enthusiast magazine, by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts.

Pfffft. I have a prescription to GRM.
Appleseed wrote: Damn! What a lifetime sub to Rodder's Journal cost?
No joke, they emailed out a lifetime subscription offer to the first 100 people who replied; I was #49. It was $200 maybe, included a lifetime member shirt, stickers AND a dash plaque. Pretty cool and at $50 a year anyway I've paid way more than that in the twelve years I've subscribed so...
I think the thing that makes GRM likeable as a magazine; short from content, is the real people aspect. Most magazines seem to be talking at us rather than to us. Maybe it's just me, that's what I like about TRJ as well. Not in my wheelhouse but it's real folks with a passion.

That sums it up pretty well.
Hear, hear. Hate when writers want to rub your nose in how much smarter they are than you are. There's a sense of camaraderie at GRM that's rare.
Haven't read C&D in years. The same goes for Motor Trend.
I've had the GRM/CM subscription for years. Good writing, interesting topics, and the world's best forum. If I didn't read, I'd still feel compelled to buy only because of the forum. Not to mention, I do like the whole "family" aspect of the whole thing.
I started to subscribe to R&T this year when they were running a sale at NAIAS. Sam Smith has always been a great writer. I'll read pretty much anything Jack Baruth writes, the guy just gets it.
The Drive is pretty decent too. Not a fan of most of their stuff (watered-down and boring), but they have some good content. Zach Bowman has a way of being eloquent without being overly verbose. Alex Roy is the berkeleying man, and is still one of the coolest people I've ever had the chance to meet. Can't think of a more genuine guy who has "been there, done that."
I write articles and stories for a couple car-related websites. I think I do decent work, but it's not easy to get paid. Any fool who loves cars and can write well can write all the free content he or she can.
As with the entire magazine industry, the number of paying writers' jobs is rapidly approaching zero. You have to do something very special to cover the nut of producing a magazine.
GRM is one of the few that do. Well done, gang!

I figured, for that price, why not? Well, I found out. Let's just say it's a good thing I keep it next to the toilet....
When TEN killed off Rod & Custom they channeled my remaining R&C subscription to Motor Trend. When it started showing up in my mailbox I was afraid somebody opened a dentist's office in my house. Even the subscription people at TEN couldn't explain it. I'm sure it was to artifically inflate the MT circulation numbers.

That reminds me, my 10 years are up and I didn't get to Carlisle this Spring. I need to renew.
