I don't proclaim to understand drifting as one who pays for his own tires, but even more confusing is the fact that tire company (Falken in this case) sponsor drifters as a form of advertisement. Are they advertising that their tires have less traction than their competitors or are they just hoping to entice 16 year old boys to go out and drift their parents car so daddy can buy them new tires and thus Falken might sell more tires? Confusing.

Not as slick as Ken's stuff, but man that V8 howl.

I think there is merit to tire companies working with drift companies. You actually have to have tires that hold up quite well, grip on the front, and have good traction off the line and in certain corners.

Drifting is very technical...

And uses up tires fairly quickly so if you want to sell more tires encourage more people to try drifting, I get that, but to me it makes me think that Falken tires don't have very good grip and are prone to losing traction therefore not a tire I want to buy.

Yep, you are correct. I apologize, I just saw "Ken Block" in the post with a youtube link and assumed that this was the Gyhmkana 4.

One of them is driving a small much molested hatch, one driving a large much molested Mustang. Not the same car.

One of the cars has fire shooting out of it's ass, one of them, just that V8 wail of doom.

One of them has gorillas, one is just a car, some asphalt, and copious amounts of tire smoke.

They both burn up many tires and have some monster stuff on the side, but really, the similarities end there.
