A bit over a decade ago, when the little devils started showing up North of Little Rock, my college's entomology department, and our State Extension Service had wax and/or plastic molds of Fire Ant tunnels. They used them in seminars and demonstrations, trying to educate the public about the nuisance and quarantine boundary. Needless to say the quarantine didn't work and those evil little bastards are dang near to Missouri now.

I like it, but I'm too lazy to dig it up. The video description also talks about using boiling water or liquid nitrogen with good ant-killing results
