I don't keep my junk. When I see junk that has somehow accumulated in my attic, if it looks like it is worth something it is pretty easy to check values on the internet. When I inevitably find out that my crappy torn up beanie baby is worth $8 in perfect condition, I just give throw it away.
The comic book world must be masturbating to this story furiously.
That said, it's pretty freakin' sweet!!! You never know what lurks in the attics and garages of this country.

Wow someone in my hometown became an instant millionaire I still have some of my old comics, don't think they're worth much but my son will enjoy them in a year or two.
Some woman found a helmet in her attic. She said it looked dirty so she cleaned it with windex. Brought it to Antiques Roadshow. It was an early roman soldiers helm and it was valued at ~$750,000. Would have been much more if she hadn't cleaned it.
