My dad has it. He is a vegetable. I go and look at him at his care home every couple weeks. Healthy as a horse and nothing going on upstairs. It's pretty strange.

This is the one disease that scares me the most, literally. Cancer, heart attack, stroke.... those don't scare me. Losing who I am and all my memories of myself and those I love? Scares. Me. E36 M3less. I'm sorry for your loss and the pain up to his last days. IT's not easy on anyone in the family.
Every time I walk into a room and forget why, it scares the crap outta me.
We all thought Mom would go first, she put out 7 kids (6 boys) survived colon cancer and breast cancer. Tough old gal.
My son, take care of your father when he is old,
Grieve him not as long as he lives.
Even if his mind fails, be considerate with him;
revile him not in the fullness of your strength.
For kindness to a father will not be forgotten,
it will serve as a sin offering—it will take lasting root.
In time of tribulation, it will be recalled to your advantage,
like warmth upon frost, it will melt away your sins.
