Ordered a part off eBay for a too good to be true price end of November. Never received part. Opened case with eBay, seller ended up posting a refund to me today, but hasn't gone through yet. Part on eBay said it was in Arkansas. PayPal payment went to a user name that had "Ca" (California?) at the end of it. Received a random microscope via UPS today, from California, with a packing slip stating someone from NY is the billing address. I have no reason to order a microscope, also don't think a totally random NY person would send me one. No good contact info on anything I have, at least nothing I feel I should safely contact... Company is listed as "United Scope" on packing slip. I'm not 100% sure the two things are related, but I'm like 99.9999899988867% sure they are. What would GRM do?
If you didn't order the microscope, then it's free to you. Keep up with the ebay/PP until you get your refund for the part you did order.

Funny, I thought that would be the first response from the forum... Packing slip shows it as this: http://www.amscope.com/10x-20x-led-binocular-stereo-microscope-boom-arm-with-gooseneck-light.html
Should I worry that someone is trying to/has stolen my identity?
The scope had your name and address on it? Do you have kids?
I got caught up in a scam sale on eBay. Seller sent several of us counterfeit coins instead of the GoPro we bought.
They then said we received the cameras, using the tracking from the coin delivery as proof. Several of us were caught up in the scam. The people who received refunds all got them from PayPal. eBay didn't come through for anyone.
I got an 800 number for PayPal from one of the other forum members. Called it, went directly to a human. Refund processed in minutes.

I just had my ebay account compromised before I headed on vacation. They ordered a very expensive (to me) Laptop and Ifail. They weren't that dumb as they deleted the messages about it and tapped into the conversation with the seller I was having after I caught it. They were dumb enough to use a physical address in my home city and didn't change the zip+4 which means it never would have made it to them. I had to file a police report, but my bank refunded all my money and the seller of the iFail refunded my money too, so as of current my account is $700 in the green from someone else's money. Once I get back from this trip , I'll start in on the police to get them to actually do something.
