This is just messed up. When is a store able to boot peoples cars? I've heard of towing, but not booting. On top of that, why is a convenience store booting an Ambulance on duty, with it's lights on, tending to a man that is having a medical issue at their store? Why are you booting an ambulance at all??

I'm not a suing type of person, but if that patient survives his serious medical conditions (heart problems I suppose), I would sue the berk out of that store.

Booting is a racket, plain and simple.

Its too bad the ambulance crew didn't see it ahead of time, they could have rescue equipment to chop it off, and leave it in the parking lot in pieces.

I hope the convince store gets a visit from the city attorney, the fire marshal, the towing & repair bill for the first ambulance and the fee for the second ambulance.

Stay classy people of NOLA.

Ps, I was expecting it to be Philly

Isn't this counter productive from the stores standpoint ? Booting makes the vehicle unable to leave the parking space, blocking it from another customer.

As for the idiot that put one on an active ambulance needs help.

Wouldn't the boot by the store be illegal ?

One of those instances where it really needs to be allowed to beat somebody up without penalty of law. If as a country we allowed beatings for breaches of common sense, I wonder if our legal system workload would diminish.

Now, if you aren't in a hurry, you can always put your booted car on dollies and flatbed it home, then call the shiny happy people and politely invite them to come get their boot.

by the looks of that boot.. it would be fairly easy to take the wheel off and put a spare on

If you read the story the boot caused the flat tire.

Exactly what I was going to say. I hate New Orleans. Even though I was raised there until 5 years old, I still do not tell people I am from there. Such a E36 M3hole.

no, more along the lines of disabling the vehicle so they could come back later and part it out on the spot.. or something like that..

Yeah... just sayin' there's got to be more to this story, I hope? Like maybe an employee had a beef with the victim, or this was some kind of prank gone wrong... something more plausible than how it looks!

Wow.

Some say hope is eternal. The same can be said of stupidity.

That place looks like a stand-alone building so it makes it almost a certainty that a store employee applied the boot. I hope the report goes viral and that the store loses a lot more money than the $115 bucks they hoped to pocket; not to mention the likely lawsuit.
