Hi Guys,
I was just about to buy my first ammunition for my angry screwdriver dispenser. I had decided to purchase from here and then I saw this disclaimer at the bottom of their page.
WARNING: Ammunition cannot be shipped to AL; CA; CT; FL; HI; IL; NJ; NY; OK; RI; D.C.; MA; Canada or Puerto Rico. Ammunition cannot be shipped Parcel Post. If shipping to IA, must be 21. Please check your State, County and City laws for restrictions before ordering Ammunition.
Is it illegal to have mosin ammo shipped to a home to FL? What if I have it shipped to an FFL? I don't want to do anything illegal. Where can I check relevant law (in an easily understood format?)
Thanks,
JoeyM

FWIW, I don't see a warning/disclaimer like there on this site, but I need to know relevant FL law before making a purchase. I don't want to do anything that can get me mixed up with the law

I really doubt there is a Florida law regarding it. I'd order while you can. If you really want to check, call your local sheriff's office. Then again, if they say they can't ship there, they probably won't. I love Missouri.

In IL we have to have a firearm owner ID card for ammo - so the web places are supposed to check - no problems from aim surplus on shipping. Just had to register on their site first.

berkeleying FOID cards.... My partners who live in your side of the river have to carry those.

It's actually a feeling of vague insecurity, knowing many Chicago politicians would like to completely ban firearms and having them registered with the state.
back on topic, quick search says no issue with shipping to FL - just regular stuff - UPS ground with ORM-D labelling

I suspect some retailers are just laying down their own blanket shipping prohibitions for some states based on fears of "creative interpretation" of existing laws that do not, in fact, actually forbid shipping of said ammunition.
That said, the retailer you mention in the first post has a fairly dodgy reputation as far as product quality and customer service. I'd look elsewhere simply for that reason. 7.62x54R is not exactly rare, so you should have no trouble finding an alternative source.

Good call. I just got back from the sheriff's. There's no problem. It was the vendor's issue, not FL law. (My guess is that the vendor sells something that DOES have issues under FL law, and that the vendor doesn't want to have deal with training their staff "this ships, that doesn't"
There may be some county in FL that put its own restrictions in place. In the PRC, it goes by county. Try SportsmansGuide.com. They have it by zip code who they will or will not ship to.
