So, Good news everyone! (Said in the professor voice from futurama)
I got a call early yesterday evening, and was hired for a new job. Some of you know that I was going to be unemployed come February due to a company restructure. Well, not anymore.
I'm half of the team for an entirely new service here in the state of north Carolina. Tennanncy support for the doj settlement people. What that means, no one really knows yet. Nobody has done it yet. So I guess I can make it up as I go, which is actually a talent of mine.
Regardless, I'll be able to keep food on the table and a roof over my family head. Takes a lot of fear and stress off of me.
I still want out of mental health services altogether, but I have more time now.
Just wanted to share with my grm family.

Congrats. Hoping you can structure it to be enjoyable. Are you gonna be a State Employee? If so, that's a good thing in the long run.
The Bride is a mental health professional. You're right, you want out of that field.

Tenancy support of DOJ (Department of Justice?) settlement people? What does that even mean?

Sounds like relocation assistance.

Well if you get to make it up, you should probably include the all important Donut Spec
some how. So if someone wants a meeting with you, they have to bring the pastries. State Law, dude.
In reply to PHeller:
According to the state service definition, the service is only for people with spmi that were identified during the doj settlement process as placed into institutes of mental disease. We are to assist these people in finding, attaining, and maintaining independant living settings. I'll be the guy on the team teaching maintenance/cleaning/budgeting/cooking/illness management/and setting filks up with services other than ours.
At least that's the way it looks to us. What it may actually be could be completely different. We're the first team in the state, providing the service for the first time. Other states have done something similar, so it is not completely uncharted territory.
Worst case scenario, me and my team will travel to another state that has this service and see how they do it.
Good news indeed! Always nice to have employment and the paycheck which accompanies.
That's great news! Good luck with the new gig!
