Sadly, it probably isn't a joke
No, it probably isn't a joke. That would be a pretty cool ride but I bet the title work would be, shall we say, 'interesting'.
I have never heard of a 'gyromatic' transmission but sure enough alcohol boy is right. http://www.allpar.com/mopar/m6.html

Not in Georgia - on a car that old, you just hand the tax office a bill of sale. I've done that several times.
My dad bought one of those around 1955. It had "Fluid Drive". It had a clutch and a 3 speed on the column. You could leave it in 3rd., not depress the clutch and when ready just accelerate away . . . slowly. The old flathead 6 didn't have a lot of power. It was the first car I ever drove. I'd love to have one now in the condition that one was in. It was shiny black with perfect chrome.
I had one of these when I was 15 as a "field car". Back when mowing four lawns got you $40 or so, enough to hit the back row of Parente's Motors and head to the woods behind the meat market.
I flunked physics in high school, but learned all about it when I flipped it on its lid and went up an embankment and through a barb wire fence upside down!
Yep, you can break all the rules in the world except the rules of physics. Gospel.
