looking at the gts in question it isn't even remotely over the top
the body work is relatively subtle. Idk whats going on with the drivetrain because I didn't see if you had any details but I'd definitely say the people hating are either jealous or they have some mad ricey cars and got their definitions mixed up.
Your car is not very flamboyant. and it's a gts and not a gt, so there's a couple more bonus points for you.
and you have an awd safari van, so you're good to go here=]

Listen guys, no offense, but you all are idiots.

Yah, we actually appreciate different around here. Every chance I get I post up my teams Lemons entries. Maybe we should all hyperlink our weirdest to give an idea what we're on about:

That's me, drag racing a minivan. I shouldn't have to say anything else.

Thank you, i appreciate your advice and your restraint to criticize. As for the cooler, it was one of my first modifications.

Thank you, i sincerely appreciate that. Additionally, the current body kit is going away and will replaced with a 2003+ front bumper with Greddy lip, along with OEM sideskirts. So if someone if thinking it is currently a bit "loud," it will likely be toned down soon. Although, it'll be decal-heavy; i like the track car looks more than street car looks.

The only thing ive got to add is this: All cars are E36 M3. Being a enthusiast is about how you accept and work to overcome that (or not). The hater types havent realized this yet. Their cars or the style they like MUST be the best (dispite what their gut tells them every time they look at that rust spot, or the car overheats a bit, or when they feel slow) So when something threatens to say what they already know, the result on the internet is rage.

Funny you mention that. I'm on a couple of forums where your screen name is your name. First and last. Period. Cutesy screen names are not allowed. There are still arguements, but they do tend to be more docile. Granted, these are both racing forums where members often meet on track.

The threat of becoming part of Margie's patio doesn't hurt either...

No matter what you do, someone is not going to like it. As someone that drove Fiats for years, I've had my share of haters. You have to ignore them and do what you want and not listen. It is YOUR car, not theirs, and if you like it, it doesn't matter what they think.

I've experienced a little of what you have the MR2 boards, usually in the model specific areas. It's as if they have certain people that do nothing but look for things to attack others on. I think it's their mission in life. Personally, I don't care at all what they think. Build it like you want.

Around here, you'll probably have a more difficult time getting people NOT to enable your crazy ideas. It's a definitely "out of the box" crowd.

Try it. Post up something like:

I want to put a VW VR6 in the front of a Masarati Biturbo and then a Iron Duke from a Fiero in the back. Do you think I could do this for under a Challenge budget?

I promise you everyone will be excited.

Actually... (off to CL)
