She's not making any friends up here. I didn't really pay much attention to her before, but the papers are in a frenzy up here over her visit. Is she for real, or it all a put-on?

Like I said before.. This lady is bitter to the core.

She seriously needs a rabbit, and not the fuzzy easter kind.

I like her.

Not enough to pay to listen to her, but she's funny.

I was curious, so I watched several you tube vids. To me, it looks like she's honestly trying to be tongue-in-cheek, putting a spin on other's hateful diatribe and playing it back to show how ridiculous it sounds. Or maybe I'm wrong, some of her E36 M3e is really quite dumb and uninformed (no, Canadians really, really didn't send troops to "Nam).

Weird. Though I'm more inclined to believe Carlos Hathcock's story of going out with Canadian special forces than Wikipedia...

Ann Coulter has the blogger's dream: she gets paid good money to say outlandish things.

At least 50% of America wouldn't be too upset if a large rock from outer space fell on her.

I guess the other 50% loves her.

do you mean the part where the canuck's out shoot us?

In 1967 Hathcock set the record for the 20th century's longest combat kill with a Browning M2 machine gun mounting a telescopic sight. The distance was 2,286 meters (2,500 yd / 1.420 mi). Hathcock was one of several individuals to utilize the Browning M2 machine gun in the sniping role. This success led to the adoption of the .50 BMG cartridge as a viable anti-personnel and anti-equipment sniper round. Sniper rifles have since been designed around and chambered in this caliber. The record was broken twice 35 years later, in 2002, during Operation Anaconda in Afghanistan by a Canadian sniper team consisting of MCpl. Graham Ragsdale (Team Commander), MCpl. Tim McMeekin, MCpl. Arron Perry, Cpl. Dennis Eason and Cpl. Rob Furlong from the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI). The first to break Hathcock's record was Master Corporal Arron Perry with a 2,310 meter (2,526 yd / 1.435 mi) shot. Shortly after that this record was surpassed by Corporal Rob Furlong with a shot of 2,430 meters (2,657 yd / 1.509 mi) from a McMillan TAC-50 Long-Range Sniper Weapon on a Taliban fighter.

She says outlandish things to stay in the public eye, much the same as the lefty versions like Janeane Garofolo or Jesse Jackson. And that's why I don't take any of them seriously.

I saw a show about the Furlong's shot on the History Channel and he had run out of his Canadian spec ammo and switch to some hotter US spec ammo. It called team work. Around the 3:30 minute mark.

S'okay. The Canucks can have the sniper rifle medal. We will keep the drones, the tactical nukes, etc etc etc...

Lesley, YouTube clips are not always the best resource as they are always at the mercy of those who edit and post them. If someone had taped every argument between your parents and edited them for web exposure, you yourself may see Mom and Dad in a different perspective.

Coulter is a conservative version of Bill Maher, except she doesn't eat as much as he does, sells more books, likely makes more tons more moolah, but does get "face pies" by morons who disagree.

Can we work an exchange between her and Donald Sutherland?

That's it in a nutshell. Seems we have something here in America(at least for the time being) called freedom of speech. She says what she wants to. We also have something (again, for the time being) called freedom of choice. If you don't like what someone says, don't listen, turn it off, change the channel, etc. It happens sometimes in Canada, too. When everyone got tired of looking at Mrs. Trudeau and her patutie, they got rid of her. I happen to think Ms. Coulter is smart. She makes a heck of a living saying whatever she wants to. I wish I was that smart. Sure beats working! BTW, why is it only the conservatives are singled out? flounder

The world may never know. Over on my atheism BB, we have something called "Poe's Law". Roughly, it states that when it comes to extreme positions held in religion or politics, it's often difficult to distinguish a particularly accurate parody from the "real thing".

I think Ann Coulter is a typical media creation, no better or worse than Bill Maher or Roger whatsisname.. Unfortunately, we Canucks are going to deserve every ounce of her future vitriolic rants about freedom of speech and Canadians.

I like her for the sole fact that she doesn't seem to give a damn about political correctness. I also like to look at what she says similar to how I look at John Stewart and Steven Colbert.
