Following on from the other Snowboard post. I got my Burton Charger in 98 and bought K2 Clicker bindings that I'd demoed the year before. Soon after I got them they seemed to disappear. What happened to them and why? I've seen nothing since that seems to hold a candle to them in usability. Every other boot/binding system seems to be a giant PIA to use. I get to the top of the lift, stomp into my click, bend down to do up the safety and I'm off. Every single other boot binding system seems to require stopping, sitting your ass down and getting in the way and faffing about. This is especially noticeable being in Michigan where runs tend to be short, other people waste a lot of time getting their asses wet and cold while i wait.
Best of all was some young kids a couple of weeks ago who I was talking too on the lift. They thought my 'old school' bindings were awesome (I feel really old sometimes!)
I know they have the tiniest bit of free play as you go from edge to edge, but I’ve never met anyone who’s tried them who doesn't love them.
Why has snowboarding taken such a massive step backwards in ease of use?
I have these exact boots in size 11, I may go looking for some NOS size 12 as my feet seem a bit bigger (as is all of me) than when I was in my late 20's!!!
