I presume this is new...I hadn't seen it, and its Christmas themed.
It appears to be the start of season 2. In the intro you can see short clips of him reassembling other items, including what looks like a Honda minibike - I'm looking forward to that one.
A second episode is up on Youtube - James May reassembles a cake mixer.
I would imagine Jeremy Clarkson would lose his mind if he tried to watch these shows.
I have never seen this before, it's bloody brilliant! Thanks for the link. Watched while I ran at the gym, made the 30 minutes way more tolerable.
I have to say, it is heartening to know that such a show exists. More so that enough people actually watch it to justify doing it.
(I watched it for a few minutes, then ended up watching the whole thing)
Go back and watch the episodes from the first season, they should still be available on Youtube. He reassembles a lawn mower, a telephone and an electric guitar.
"Here's an interesting fact about screwdrivers for those of you who are interested in screwdrivers..."
It should be titled "James May Putters". It's great.
What a wonderful show.
I can't imagine trying to pitch this to a TV network: "I'm going to reassemble old gadgets while talking about how they work in a sort of stream-of-consciousness way."
On the other hand, absurdly low budget to do.
I think the Disassembler needs a lot of credit on that show as well. I mean, stuff is designed to be put together. Its usually much harder to get it apart without breaking something.
Having said that, its all old stuff, with metal parts and screws holding it together. Try to take a modern plastic thing apart and see how much success you have...
I was watching the episode with the Ken Wood mixer the other night. I had to sit back and laugh at the fact that I was enjoying it. Why is watching somebody else assemble an old mixer entertaining?
We are weird people
I just saw the new record player episode. The stream of consciousness in that one is excellent for people of a certain age.

I hope James May gets just as many episodes as Bob Ross
