I really enjoyed the last thread when I asked what watch to get. I completely ignored you jerks and got what I wanted. I still love it. Let's see your cool watches!!

I kinda fell down the rabbit hole a while back. Specifically, Soviet-era Russian watches. They're affordable fun. I picked up a few, but not all were keepers. If you get the right one, there's an air of sadness about them.

My Poljot Stadium. I love this one because it's what the future should look like. It's what all the cosmonauts wear on the moon base. And because the Cyrillic date messes with my head every time I look at it. I haven't come up with a band that suits it yet. I've tried a black leather one as well. If the color were a better match, this current one would suit. I might disassemble it and polish the links.

Second favorite because it's just so cool. Kinda like it was copied from a photocopy of a Monaco. The band just finished the job.

One of a couple of Sturmanskies. I like this one because of the obvious age. It's been worn forever and cared for, you can't fake that patina. I put it on a well-aged band, it suits.

And the grown-up watch. You can't lose with a Speedmaster, and they keep their value if you buy used. It's like buying an old 911 - not cheap, but they never drop in value unless you wreck them. Plus, if I ever have to go on a space walk, I can take it with me. It says so on the back. I sometimes wear it on the metal band, but I like this Hirsch. It's breaking in really nicely.

Daily wear is an Invicta Pro Diver that is built like a truck and has a carbon fiber face. No picture.

There are a few others, but no pics at this time. One other "good" watch is a nice Mondaine with the most legible dial ever. Pics later.

I probably posted it the last time, but here it is again. Victorinox Ambassador Automatic Day-Date. Couldn't be happier with it. I've got others - Movado Automatic, Wenger Chronograph, etc etc... - but this is my usual daily wear watch.

I don't often wear a watch anymore (particularly in the summer when it's too hot to wear one) but when I do I use my Dad's old 1950s Timex. It looks like this:

the last watch i owned had a calculator built right into it... my math teacher made me take it off during class because you weren't allowed to use calculators in 5th grade math class in 1985..

My cell phone tells time. I'm often doing enough stupid stuff that a watch would only get ruined.

I have to have a watch for work. I always wore a cheap drugstore one but my wife got me this for Christmas. I wasn't sure about the canvas strap but I love it. It's the first one that didn't give me rash from sweat and frequent hand washing. My good watch is a pocket watch she gave me as a wedding gift.

Reminds me of this vintage Poljot I picked up - they're definitely of a style. I don't wear it often because it's a bit smaller than I like, but it's really slim.

Eric, I'm digging that Fossil. I'd been looking for a black chrono with a steel band but hadn't found quite what I liked.

Thank you! It's nice to see someone with a watch that is just fun instead of fashion.

I usually hate these threads, because they always make me, with my plebian g-shock, seem so unsophisticated and boring.

Post yours too brother. LOL I bet that G-Shock can take more of a beating and dropping than my watch did. I dropped it on the floor and the front crystal cracked and it took 3 weeks to repair. LOL

What I wear every day, albeit with a maratac nylon band:

What I wear when I'm going somewhere nice:

I also have a few Seiko and a few cheap Timexs, but these two spend the most time on my wrist.

I need some hive input on this one:

I currently wear this Citizen Eco-Drive on a black nylon strap: http://www.amazon.com/Citizen-BM8180-03E-Eco-Drive-Canvas-Strap/dp/B000EQS1JW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1373570861&sr=8-1&keywords=citizen+bm8180

I like it but I have the itch for something more simple and thought about this: http://www.amazon.com/Timex-T41711-Expedition-Camper-Fabric/dp/B000B55AFE/ref=sr_1_2?s=watches&ie=UTF8&qid=1373570893&sr=1-2&keywords=timex+camper

I would swap it over to a nicer strap. What does the hive say?

sounds like Seiko 5 time. I have one just like this with the blue face and love it as my daily wear. A neubuck (sp?) band with white stitch classed it up perfectly for wearing at the office and around wherever else.

I've got one of those with the blue face as well. Mine's on a nice brown leather band. It's a good watch, not as big as some. In fact, my wife spotted it and, well, it's hers now.

I had a Seiko 5 exactly like the one in the photo. I liked the watch itself but the concept of an automatic turned me off and I sold it off. I got tired of it gaining time and having to reset it all the time.

I have a Soviet medical watch just like this one--different band--though, but sadly one of the gears broke. Our local watch guy said that it's just cheap pot metal inside. One day, I need to see if someone else can fix it.
