Anyone build a 12v sump pump , or just a 12v suction pump to drain rain water in the bottom of barrels , plastic tarps etc ,
It does not rain that much around here so I really do not think about it much , but the tarp over one of my cars has a lake in it , as do a half dozen other places , and thats just the first rain of the season .
I do not care if it takes an hour if it works , I would probably use a 12v Jumper pack ,
In fact I wonder why no company has made a 12v jumper pack sump pump ........ummmm
Thanks for your ideas...
Milwaukee makes an M18 transfer pump. $200 american pesos. Garden hose connections. Seems like its just the thing for this sort of application. https://www.milwaukeetool.com/Products/Power-Tools/Plumbing-Installation/Transfer-Pumps/2771-20

What about using a bilge pump? They're cheap and designed to work off a 12V system.
Learn about starting a syphon. Or a siphon, depending on your location.
Bilge pump for 12v, although the cheap pond pumps from HF work great if you have 120v available.
can bilge pumps work underwater ?
the ones I have seen for houses had a bulb that when the water got too high it turned on ,
but I do not think they want to be 100 percent under water
Bilge pumps are for boats, sump pumps are for houses. I'd bet they are designed for underwater, because lotsa boats sit unattended in the rain for weeks on end.
Inverter clamped on a battery to your 120v pump? I've used that in an emergency with power out to drain my parents basement
