Any good body shops in SE Michigan?

I'm looking for a decent body shop to weld in new metal in a few "small" spots of rust on my Volvo 145 in the southeast Michigan area. Online sites seem no help at all in finding who has had a good experience.

Any GRMers have someone they've used before for rust repair? Any SE Michigan GRMers want to earn some extra money welding up a classy Volvo over the winter?

I've had friends use Stony Creek Collision with good results. They tend to do European cars too. I bought my old F-250 diesel off of the owner and he's a really nice guy. (I miss that truck).

There is a shop in Owosso that has a good reputation that specializes in european cars, I can 't remember the name however. Dag's collision in Flint is another reputable shop.

They fixed my C30 after I was hit. Equal to OEM, you really can't tell it was touched. Even re-printed OEM stickers and replicated the spray pattern and finish of the underhood paint to match stock. Car was put on a Celette to pull straight. They are uthorized by BMW, Merc, Land Rover, Audi, Bentley, Porsche to do accident repair on new cars.

Tom spangler has seen the work, both right after it was done and now over a year later. It's simply stunning. Not cheap though, but I was covered by insurance

Is there a difference between restoration shops and collision shops? I don't think I would necessarily take this 1973 Volvo to get a few panels patched at the same shop I would take my 2008 Honda Fit for an accident repair.

Would I be better off at a Hot Rod/ custom shop?

Agreed, but I did see a couple of long hood 911's at Automark having some resto work done and I konw a lot of the PCA and 356 club guys (picky picky owners) take their cars their for repair work. That's how I got put in touch with them

This place does good work. My boss used them for several of his cars and was happy with it. Im not sure how much rust repair they do, but their body work is excellent

Thanks for the recommendations. I have a few shops to check out now, hopefully I can find a place that will work within a budget.
