I remember when I signed up for my Chase Sapphire card, you received $500 cash back after spending $3k in the first 90days.
I needed to buy somethings anyway, so I purchased them and then paid the card off but kept it open.
I'm getting ready to drop another chunk of change on the track car for brakes/suspension, so I was curious if there were any other big signup rewards/bonuses from some cards being offered at the moment.
This would be a open the card, buy parts, pay off with money I've saved for the purchase and then close the card transaction.

I'm a CC whore
This year I have gotten nearly $1500 out of the CC bitches!
Having no job and out of savings a guy has to do what a guy has to do
Got $35 out of Ebay last week.
I think the Slate Card is what your looking for.
Each of these cards played me on average $150 to open an account. Its good to be a CC Whore

Wow, if that ain't living dangerously I don't know what is!
it's not living dangerously... the costs are just spread out to the other people that don't know how to take advantage of the rules of the game..

I'm not seeing in the link what their "sign-up bonus" is? Did I miss it?
As long as your careful it can work out very well for you. Back when the GM Card came out my uncle used it to pay all his big bills. Kids tuitions, home renovation ect. In a couple years he had earned enough for a free Geo Prism. The flip side is people like me who aren't as careful end up buying people Geo Prisms.
There has just been a legislative change up here, where I (a vendor) may be able to either refuse or upcharge ripoff cards like that.
Forgive me, but I don't like buying you airmiles.
Guys I didn't start this thread to debate the misuse of credit cards. I use credit responsibly, I don't need the cautionary tales, I misused it when I was younger and have pulled myself out of it.
But I now realize the power in PROPERLY using credit to your advantage.
I'm purely asking which card has the best signup bonus at the moment.
i dont think you're going to see the $500 dollar days anymore. CC laws changed in the last couple years and certain practices are now 'prohibited' in the name of protecting consumers from themselves.

I'm definitely interested.
I happily and naively dug myself a credit grave in my younger days and I'm very gun shy. I'm still quite ignorant as to the inner workings of things like this and would like to learn more.
Also interested. I need a credit card, currently only have a debt card and it has failed to work a few times leaving me money-less.

State Farm has a Visa that earns 1% State Farm Dollars on all purchases. Contact an agent for more info, but it should be good toward any SF product--Insurance payments, Mutual Funds, various Bank products (i.e. turn it into cash), etc.
Looks like it is even better than 1%:
•Single State Farm Dollars redemptions in amounts of 250 to 499.99 redeemed directly toward a qualifying existing State Farm Mutual Funds®, State Farm Life product, or State Farm Bank® Checking Account will receive a bonus of 25% of the original redemption amount added to the redemption.
•Single State Farm Dollars redemptions in amounts of 500 or more redeemed directly toward a qualifying existing State Farm Mutual Funds, State Farm Life product, or State Farm Bank Checking Account will receive a bonus of 35% of the original redemption amount added to the redemption.

Go in to a Chase Bank and ask. You may have to open an savings or checking account. They have offer that you cant find on line. The last time I went in $100 was the lowest offer. The 1,2,3% Cash back is a better deal than a savings account. Why pay cash when the bank will pay you to use there cards.
BoA Cash Rewards cashback card seems to currently have a $100 signup bonus if you spent a certain amount of money on it in the first 90 days. Plus, if you have a BoA checking account they at least used to give you a 10% bonus if you redeem the cashback into your BoA account (I have this card, but I haven't checked the redemption bonus recently).
