Any Houston folks near clearlake?

I've been watching this car for a few months. His recent price drop has me somewhat interested in it as a dd to give the excursion a rest. Now, I don't want to deal with rust at all but if it's truly rust free then I might have to haul it back and find somewhere to keep it lol. 

If anyone near the area has free time to check it out for me that would be awesome. But, I'm not in a hurry to jump on the deal unless it's indeed a great deal and not a huge headache. For example, a hurricane Harvey car!

It's not running but I'm sure I could fix it easy. 

I'm about an hour from there. 

There is a bit of a situation in Houston right now where everyone believes that all cheap cars are flood cars. Especially cheap cars with mystery problems. This is either a good or a bad depending on whether it was really flooded.

Yeah, its hard to gauge from afar. And there are A LOT of deals in that area. I am sort of weary this car might've been flooded due to its proximity to the water. 

I can probably maybe go check it out, but I'm very uncomfortable declaring it non-flooded. I had a flood Miata in my garage for six months and that car just needed the carpet put back in and a quick wipe down of the door panels and it would have looked brand new. It was flooded to the middle of the door speakers. 

The market is suppressed for all low value cars in Houston because you pretty much have to assume they got wet. Non runners are even worse. 

My uncle buys flood cars. His rule is that he will never buy any flood vehicle without power seats, and if the power seats don't work, he doesn't touch it. But he sticks with domestic late-model vehicles. 

Man, I may go look for you, but I also may have a hard time telling you its not bad.

I mean, whether it is or isn't.  If it isn't, then not worth it.  If it is, it may sit in my driveway :)
