For whatever reason I have trouble with iCloud. I don’t know why, but I think it’s because my wife and I share an iTunes account from back in 2008. So whenever I try I use it it ends up merging our contacts. Which is a pain. Any other companies you guys recommend?

I use Google for contacts/email/phots on our iPhones, Computers, etc.

Another option would be to create your own iCloud account.

I use google for contacts, email, photos, videos.  Its great, but knowing google they will probably randomly stop deprecate some important feature of it in the next year.

Could roll your own with OwnCloud too if you're Google adverse.

Since you brought up Contacts, I'm assuming this is for your phone?

I have a Pixel 2 (Google phone) and have my stuff backed up to one of my Gmail addresses, couldn't be easier.

A good option I've been considering. Right now I just use SCP access to my own servers.

I've been using it to sync files between my backup server, desktop, laptop and living room computer for about a year now.

I have a local NAS that does backups to an encrypted Amazon S3 bucket.

You'll need to log in to post.
