I liked it a lot. Very period correct. The automotive eye candy alone is worth it. They did a lot of research from the 1960s Pan Am from the WorldPort at JFK to the styles of Jets and other aircraft they used. They used a lot of CGI, but it's not bad.

It also has a pretty good plot.

According to IMDB, they only filmed 4 episodes.

I did not watch and didn't care that I missed. I felt it is trying to rip off Mad Men, which I love. Same thing with the Playboy show.

I may catch it during a marathon or in reruns later.

I have not seen it but will likely watch it via hulu. When I heard this was being made I wondered if the movie, "Catch Me If You Can" was the inspiration for the whole thing. Is there a Frank Abagnale type character?

i watched most of the first episode with the wife. I liked it better than i thought I would.

It interests me more than a lot of other new crap shows that are hitting the airwaves right about now.

and yes cool cars :)

Never heard of Mad Men, but Pan Am was good. Christina Ricci is too short to have been a stewardess of that era. They had all kinds of requirements from height to weight to marriage and babies.

Don't know about the spy aspect of the show. That seems over the top.

Seems pretty good. Wife and I were excited about all the new shows coming out this season. Not because they looked to be fantastic shows, but more because there's no new reality shows!!

I liked Pan Am. The Playboy Club was pretty good, too.

Both seem like slow starts, but I'm hoping they'll pick up as the seasons go on.

i liked it, kinda sucks there is so much cgi, but its probably cost prohibitive to use a real airport and real planes for those scenes without a Michael Bay film budget. the nozzles on the jet engines were seriously cheezy imo but i guess they weren't for my benefit.

The jet nozzles were the only thing really obvious. A couple of the sets look just like that -sets, but nothing that got in the way of the show. I too thought Playboy was good. Well much better than I expected.

The lead girl's hair is all wrong tho. There was no way the girl's hair wasn't sprayed and lacquered down.

I haven't seen it yet, very interested though. Anything is better than the Kardasians and their ilk!

Ricci is worth it alone. Nevermind all the other ridiculous babes. If only I was a pilot back in the day... not that it's too bad being one now.

The spy thing actually has some truth to it:

I still get a kick out of the Pan Am name being bought by and used on a New England-based freight railroad, and one with an abysmal track record to boot. The railroad's owner tried twice to revive the Pan Am airline with profits from the railroad. Both ended in failure.

Watched Playboy Club off my DVR. Just as good as Pan Am. The main blonde character is beautiful.

I also enjoy the fact that it's Chicago.
