Subject car is a mid-00s GM product.
The power seat fails in fore-aft mode, to where moving the switch accomplishes nothing.
When I disconnect the drive cables (square drive, much like old speedo cables) the motor runs fine in free air.
Then I re-attach the drive cables, and the seat runs fine.
For about a week.
Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
I have lubed the tracks, etc. Is it possible the motor is getting weak? Or any other theories greatly appreciated!
