I'm starting to out grow the food saver style vacuum sealers between stocking the freezers and getting into making lunch meat and sausages.
The seal cycles can't keep up on busy days the pumps are struggling because while the manual doesn't state a duty cycle, there's a duty cycle.
I've seen commercial grade food saver style vacuum sealers. They're expensive, but rated for hundreds of seal cycles in a row before needing a cool down.
For similar money, I see chamber vacs. I've always wanted one, but I've never used one. I hear everywhere they're great for wet foods or liquids, but I haven't seen mention of custom sized bags or duty cycles or anything like that. You know, the important bits.
I do like the food saver style because of custom bag sizes, especially with the gusseted expanding bags, because it lets me do big cuts of meat or awkward shaped items, but it's not like I'm going to just get rid of the ones I have either.
So does anybody have a chamber vac at home or that they use at work? Any thoughts or experiences with brands or size availabilities?
