If the holiday budget covers it, is the "black edition" worth the additional Benjamin over the "silver edition"?

Expected use - occasionally on the bike and recording me driving on the track as a learning tool.

the black edition is truely the next step in the hero cameras, probably worth the extra hundred, the silver is basically the same specs as the previous hero2

I'd get the Black Ed. Go big or go home.

Ordered a black as soon as they were announced. Had it for a few weeks now.

PROS: Amazing quality. Simply amazing. How they get such incredibly optics in such a small package is beyond my comprehension. Versatile function (time lapse, stills, burst, video) and excellent mounting options and form factor. Wifi and remote options seem rather awesome, although I haven't messed with them much yet.

CONS: Lousy battery life, typical GoPro menu interface issues (there's waaaay to many options to make it easy to use with just two buttons), no viewfinder.

We're actually collecting data and parts for a pretty comprehensive action-cam hands-on comparison. It's not something that's right around the corner, but it's in the research stages and you'll be seeing it before too awful long. In the meantime, my personal belief is that the Black is worth the extra scratch if image quality matters to you. It's crazy good.

Nah, I don't care much about image quality.
