I just switched, and I'm already liking it better. Any other nerds here?
I tried for like 15 minutes. Muscle memory prevailed. Working call center for 2 years programmed me really deeply.
I tried it for quite a while but the fact that EVERYTHING else in the world I touch is QWERTY made me switch back. It's tough to switch back and forth unless you really stay focused. My ADD won't let me focus that much.

me to... in '65... either of the other keyboard systems would return me to the hunt and peck method...

Same here..1972. Never used it at all until I bought my first computer in 2001. To my suprise, I put my fingers on the home keys, and it came back to me almost immediately!
Seems like every so often, somebody comes up with a "better, more efficient" layout, but they never catch on. It's like trying to reinvent the wheel; too late to change now.

I use QUERTZ with one of these. About as good as preventing other people from using your computer as Dvorak, but it repels them earlier in the process.

you german?
I've been using qwerty for over 20 years now... No sense in changing for the sake of change.
I would like to try it, but I think switching between layouts all the time would be annoying.
I like the fact that it was set up to make it as easy as possible to type fast, as opposed to QWEERTY which was laid out with the intention of slowing down typists so the mechanical componets of their typwriter wouldn't jam.
I wish I could, a buddy of mine uses dvorak, and I sat down to type something and I was like...'uhh, berkeley. can you type for me?'
