Looks like SWMBO and I are going to Cuba in February. She's attending an art retreat and I'm going because I'd like to see Cuba while its old charm is still intact. And for the Cuban food and old cars. The trip is with an organized group, so we're not flying solo, so to speak. Finca Vigía is definitely on my list. I mean, Hemingway. I know I need a GSM phone, and I'm looking for SIM card options.
Has anyone here ever been there before? Anything in particular I should see and do?

Eat sandwiches. Get a good cigar. Drink cuba libres. Embrace the culture. Never been, but plenty of Cubans in florida. Great folks.
Somebody here had a quick trip there.
If you are into music, be sure to watch this before you go:

We were there for 12 hrs in July and then again over Labor Day weekend.
Not sure what state you will find Cuba, as a lot of it was damaged from Irma, but Havana is ok, according to our new friends there.
We had a great time there, the music, rum, and art were big hilights to us. The people were really awesome, though.
All of our time was spent in Havana, though.

We went in June so pre Hurricane. Stayed in a resort in Varadero. I loved it. People are super friendly. Ultra safe. Wife didn't care for the food (it wasn't the best, small selection). We rented a driver and classic car ('57 chevy) to go to Havana for the day. Fantastic. Loved the old cars, buildings, etc.
wifi access is bought via cards only - a small pain.
