For my wife's Christmas present this year (at least the main one), I've got an idea for an aluminum 'sculpture' that I want to make for her- and I want to annodize it and color it. It should but less than 2 feet tall and not much more than a square foot in area. Has anyone done any annodizing themselves at home, and do you have any advice on methods and materials? What did you use for a power supply? Thanks!

I've not done it, but I've had this saved for a similar project I haven't gotten around to yet. They're etching a logo, and then anodizing a milled 80% lower receiver for an AR-variant rifle, but the principals should be the same.

I know people do it themselves successfully on paintball guns with a bucket and a battery charger. That's where you'll probably find the bulk of the DIY info.

You'll need to log in to post.
