My Sears air compressor had a recall. I got the notice, checked the model number and the date code- yup. Mine was in the recall. So I called for the new parts.
They came today. Just a new plastic shroud to cover the motor. They said there had been fires because the old one didn't let enough air in. So, I went out and took the old one off and brought it in the house. The new parts were exactly the same. Same numbers stamped in the plastic and everything.
Pft. Clean new cover for the motor. I'm not complaining, but seemed weird to me. My date code wasn't near the beginning or end as I recall.
Anyone else?
