So we did a set of tires on a H1 Hummer yesterday that still had the CTIS on it. Just getting the wheels off the truck took some google-fu. Balancing them with the flex line still attached was not easy. My back is killing me.

Pic of the H1:

Nice. My first thought was "H1s had those". Otherwise no.

Its times like that when the owner of that truck is fortunate someone like you that cares about cars is working there. How do you balance with a line still attached? Do you just tape it to the wheel fo its not destroying itself?

The line was pretty stiff for a flex line. The flange plate that holds the wheel to the cone sandwiched the line and the quick disconnect fitting just enough to not move. I was just glad I didn't damage any of the lines.

In our 5 ton trucks in the Guard the CTIS gave us fits. The trucks would sit for so long that the seals would dry up and tires would go flat all the time. We would usually just disable it unless we were going on a long trip.
