Anyone from Florence, SC area?

I've been looking at the Florence, SC area and I was wondering if anyone on here lived in that area. If so I'm interested in thoughts on the area.

I lived there from 1977 until 1982 with my first job out of college. When I left, they had rung the death bell. The economy was bad and getting worse. Happily, I must say that Florence has rebounded well. Ocaissionally I do work in the area and it has really grown. I must say I didn't care too much for the area at the time I lived there. The topography is flat and the mosquitos can be bad. Its not bad, but not where I would choose to live if I had a choice. We started a sports car club while I was there that failed after a good beginning. The out lying area is rural, so you can buy land if you wish. Its a good area if you like hunting and fishing.
