Update: Everything is cool, the dude got in touch, thanks everyone!

Hello everybody,

So, I was wondering if anyone knew what was going on out at BeaveRun. I know they changed ownership, and I thought it was just recently, but while at the Pittsburgh International Auto Show I talked to one of their reps and he told me that they have been under new ownership since last March.

Anyway, getting to the point, I bought a kart from them a couple of months ago, paid cash, and we filled out a hand written invoice which I did not receive a copy of. I was assured I would receive one in my e-mail as soon as they filed it. I have yet to receive it. I have emailed the person who sold me the kart multiple times, and I have called and talked to actual people, only to be forwarded to voicemails where I left messages and did not get called back. I joined their new message board, only to never be approved by admin. I am already a paranoid enough person that I'm convinced I'm boned (since storage of my kart over winter was included in the sale), but I was hoping that someone here maybe knew what was going on. I am not sure if the etiquette of taking this to a public forum is appropriate, but they haven't really tried to get in touch with me, so I've got to try something.

Thanks, Josh

I autocrossed there all last year with the Steel Cities Region SCCA. My kids ran a kart, so I did use their kart shop once or twice and thought the people were very helpful and professional. I "thought" the kart shop was under separate ownership than the track itself, but I might be wrong. I suspect that they might be running with less personnel this time of year, since nothing is happening at the track, but that's just a guess. I know on kart racing weekends that shop is swamped with people, if that tells you anything. Good luck in any case.

I think Bergfelt Racing Enterprises used to have something to do with them. I am not sure if it was official capacity or more like an indie rental/sales deal but he was heavily involved in racing and support there and catered to karters exclusively. I bought a kart from him for my son years ago. He was a straight up guy - even if he is not officially involved with Beaver Run he races there and might know who/what is going on. Can't hurt to give him a ring. http://www.bergfeltracing.com/

Cool story... when I got to his shop to pick up my son's kart I saw one with a tag that said Bill Auberlen on it. I asked - he says "Yeah, we store it for him. He is some guy who flies in for a weekend every now and then to race karts with his buddies. Do you know him?". So I said not personally - I met him once but he is one of the best pro sports car racers in the country - kind of a big deal. All he said was "Oh. Cool."

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, at the time that I bought my kart, the shop was under separate ownership, but I think it was their plan to make the kart track and shop all under the same banner. The guy in charge was totally stand-up and helpful in person and online, but now the total lack of communication makes me a bit nervous.
