This is a just a good-ole-fashioned pitch to help out some of the nicest guys I have ever met in any hobby. I took my oldest boy in there and not only were they tolerant of him (he's autistic and very friendly) they were very welcoming and excited to see his enthusiasm.
You like trains you need to check this place out!
Electric Train Depot in Ponchatoula, LA
especially considering it is in the middle of nowhere Louisiana
Man I wish I had a local place like that.
Look at all that Lionel! Super cool! Does he do older, post-war stuff or just new?
I think I need to finally cut the cord with my model train stuff. I haven't touched it in 30 years and I'm starting to think that I'm not going to again.
He has new and used. I am not into it enough to know post vs pre war stuff. I know he had some old school controllers that I really liked. Nothing like the feel of Bakelite with bushings and copper.
Give them a call they would be more than happy to tell you what they have. This place is more like a club that sells stuff than anything.
I loved this kind of stuff when I was a kid. My dad and uncle both worked for railroads and I was always intrigued by them. However, like any hobby, I never had the coin to get into it like I wished I could.
Nice find. Brings back good memories 8)
I love the electric train depot. Stepping in there really takes me back to my childhood.
