I'm exploring the idea of working from home and want to start at a decent pay grade. Sales seems to hold the most potential. Who here works remotely in sales and how do you like it? What do you sell? Would you start again today?

Work from home, sales. I have done "sales" from home before but it involved going out (starting from home) and actually visiting customers. So, much of the day away from home and sometimes with overnight travel and then other days that were truly "at home" all day doing desk work or making calls.
Or, when you say WFH, sales are you considering a job that will have you wearing a telephone headset and outbound dialing all day? Or, could be a day of trying to set appointments to get potentials to join you for a zoom call where you will be demonstrating your product/offering? All sales completed over the phone or over the computer but with you being home all day.
Based solely from home sales via phone or PC. Outbound or inbound is immaterial currently. Just stepping out of the google and trying to see the landscape.
Thanks for the input!
My wife. She sells rooms and tours (travel agent). She is loving it and making far more than she predicted she would already. She will likely break 6 digits next year which will be super nice.
I home officed for 2 decades almost. Most of it was what John said and worked at home, visited customers, came back did my things I needed to as follow-up.
I mean at the end of the days, it's sales. It can be good or bad depending on the company, product, and commissions. If it's 100% WFH, that is more of an inside sales job which will be usually around quote creation, question answering, and product positioning. 100K is really top end for a job like that. Usually 60-80K is more like it.
I did more AE roles and with that in tech, a good year was closer to 400K. So saying sales and work from home can mean a lot of different things and levels.
