We are vacationing in the Lake Geneva area and looked into renting Jet-Skis because we have a house full of people who would love to ride them. Basically its lots of money for an hour, anyone 16-29 has to take a class and buy a boating license, and you are restricted to a tiny but busy area. There is a daily rental where you tow it wherever you want but its two hours away. I am seriously tempted to scoop up one of the cheap ones on Craigslist locally and abuse it for a few days and drag it home to Florida where it can likely languish broken in my sideyard. Anyone here want to be my pre-craigslist savior?

Head over to Novak’s in Fontana. My cousin owns it. Good food.
As for wave runners, the person I thought had one doesn’t. Asked one other person, he’s in Antioch.
There is a guy in Green Bay (2-3 hours away) who buys old ones and fixes them and sells them. My uncle just bought one from him, I reached out to find out his contact info. My uncle bought it for $800 and transported it in his pickup bed. So your price with a trailer will be more.
There's This one 1 hr away that is similarly priced to examples in FL but I know little about jet skis other than they run full throttle or idle and maintenance is often never done. I do like the idea of them not having ever seen saltwater like FL skis. It is a lot more money than I like to spend on a whim though.

That's a Wisconsin boating law, for everyone, not just out of state folks looking to have some fun on the water. Came about a few years ago.

That seems like a pretty solid deal on that ski. I'm not sure if the friend I sent the inquiry to would be a better deal.
Dude, if you can grab one for $150 or so DO IT, then drop it off in GA so me & Waynimal can do Creek ov Death races. Seriously.

That's almost 2 hours away from Lake Geneva. Janesville and Kenosha Craigslist may give you closer options. I have a good friend that has a place on Lake Delavan I'll ask him if he knows anyone that's looking to part with their PWC.

I'll keep an eye out and ask around.

head over to the seadoo forums, theres a guy in Minnetonka, MN that parts skis out and keeps the best condition skis he comes across and rehabs to resell. He goes by minnetonka4me on seadooforum.com and you could PM him and see if he has anything on hand that would be a turn-key boat for you.
Money can't buy happiness, but it damn sure will get you a jet ski
I put feelers out. See pictures below.
Asking $1,000.
1994 Seadoo - well maintained and garage kept. Comes with everything pictured and all service manuals.
It's owned by my volleyball teammate. Located in the NW Chicago suburbs. Shoot me a PM if interested.
Thanks for finding that for me. It ended up too late in the week to make it worth the long tow home so we nixed the idea. I looked at one almost exactly like that one but a total rat and more money.
No worries. It may have worked out if they got back to me sooner.
