I have netflix, youtube and hulu on the PS3. I'm just wondering if the Roku is really going give me something I'm not already getting.

I don't have a PS anything so I went with the Roku. I love it. I've only used it for Netflix, Youtube, and Pandora but it has been great. Also we programmed an account just for the ankle biters which has also been awesome.
I do not miss cable at all right now. And I really don't miss that cable bill! But...its not football season. I'm still not sure how I am going to deal with that one yet.
Probably not. I have twice as many devices capable of streaming as I have TVs and find no real difference among them, except user interface.

They have some pay content, but you don't have to watch it if you don't want to pay for it. I already had an Amazon Prime and Netflix subscription. I have no intentions to purchase any of Roku's content, I was a little annoyed that while setting up the Roku you were forced to provide credit card info. A Google search during set up suggested that calling Roku and/or using their online chat service you could bypass the set up step requiring credit card info. I had the prepaid AMEX handy, and figured it would be quicker if it worked, and it did.

Not unless you have another screen you want to stream those services to on the cheap. We've got the Xbox 360 in the living room, Wii in the bedroom, and now Roku in the garage, other than the small forum factor and built in WiFi of the Roku I see no real advantages over any of the other devices, the Xbox is hard wired to the router so WiFi is moot for it.
We bought my dad a Roku 3 for Christmas last year, he has yet to use it, around February he bought a new TV that has just about all of the features of the Roku built into it already, so now the Roku is pointless. I told him to put it on the TV in their game room since he doesn't need it on their main TV in the living room any longer, but it's was still sitting in its box on the table last time I saw it. He's hard to shop for.

Uhh, aren't you paying for all those channels?
I have to use YouTube more because Prime kinda blows. Netflix is better. I was really interested in getting Aereo.

If those are the only things you need, just convenience but that means a lot to me. It takes (essentially) no power so it's always on and the UI is extremely responsive. I like that the WiFi remote means I can keep it hidden away. I occasionally use Pandora, weather underground, PBS, Smithsonian, but do most of my viewing with NetFlix Amazon. My wife discovered that she really likes the Seinfeld Comedians/Cars/Coffee series which is available on Crackle.

From my experience the streaming works better on the Roku than on my PS3 for both Netflix and Hulu.

It doesn't cost anything to install/download those channels, which is what I thought nicksta43 was asking about. You have to pay for the subscription, just like any other device. We got a deal on Prime during Christmas and have been taking full advantage of it since. Ordering a season of a series is much cheaper than adding that channel to our cable line up. We download movies so the kids can watch them on long trips too.
