was it good, great, horrible?
I thought it was entertaining, but not as good as the first.
That said, I thought, overall, the acting was good; Mickey Rourke was terrific. It's the story that had issues -- just not as compelling as the first go-around.
Scarlet J. has some wonderful curves, but I personally would have to choose Pepper Potts, you know, if I were ever in a position where I was forced to choose.
when they were fighting on the streets of monaco, why did the racecars keep coming? there is a freakin rolls royce on the track and none of the corner workers throw a freakin yellow?

There you go again, letting details get in the way of the story. I'll echo what the others have said. Not quite on par with the first, but a good time nonetheless. Don't know if I would've paid full price, but as a matinee it rocked. Stay for the end of the credits for the obligatory Avengers related hint.

Don't worry, I was thinking the same thing.
But yeah, it was entertaining once I managed to shut my brain off.
watched it at 3am that fri morning - not really that great of a movie. disappointing after KickAss and Losers. had so much more potential - very little action, Micky Rourke was underused, the arms dealer bad guy was way overused, Jason Patric was a gazillion times better in Losers. Go see it if money is no object, but if you have to make a choice, put it 2 or 3 in what's out there. Now, the A-Team with a fellow Ulsterman as Hannibal, I cannot wait. Killers with Ashton ( secret:I'm his stunt body double) looks really funny, coming June.
It was pretty decent, it's unfairly getting terrible reviews IMO. My dad said black widow's fighting scenes were just a blur, but I thought they were among the best fight scenes I'd ever seen in a live-action movie. It does shoehorn in a lot of basically irrelevant Avengers content that only distracts from the storyline.
I would say OK, not great. Kind of a lot of story, not a lot of action. Definitely not as good as the first, almost certainly not the "big" movie of the summer.
One thing I caught. As you may know Stan Lee (the original creator of Iron Man an many others) always makes a cameo in these movies. He is in this one for about 1.567 seconds, but when they show him, they introduce him as Larry King. Then, if you watch the credits, he is credited as playing himself.
Oh, if you do see it, there is an additional short scene after the credits that is setting up another franchise, not sure how this one will work out...
Saw it at the Drive-In on Friday (biggest screen in the US). Fun time. Some of it was stupid (the race cars) but overall I liked it. Love the dialogue as always. And Don Cheadle was excellent... I own the first on BlueRay, and will own this one.
I liked it. It isn't as good as the first simply because the first is soooo good. For a sequel, it is one of the best sequels in history.
It is a good movie (racing scene aside) and oddly, I'm looking forward to The Losers more than the A-Team. The losers seems more like A-Team should be and The A-Team seems to be too serious. Oh well, I'll catch them once they hit the second run theatres/drive-in this summer.
I went and saw it at 12:05 Friday morning with the girl friend. About half way into the movie someone in the theater started screaming because their friend they were with stroked out during the film .
All in all though I thought it was a good flick that had a TON to live up to because of how good the first movie was. The race track scene bugged me and the arms dealer guy annoyed me other then that I really enjoyed the movie. Mickey did an awesome job as Whiplash.
Oh and hopefully ya'll stayed to see the clip after the end credits. It got way loud in our theater when people saw that.
+1 to the not as good as the first movie. Iron Man was a great movie, so those are some hard shoes to fill. But it is a good movie. A little to slow for my taste, as they had to put a lot of back story in. I didn't understand why Black Widow was in it. I never read Iron Man much so maybe I missed the point of that.
