Well... i've got about 300 cars... I didn't feel like running the special stage again.
haven't had the chance to sit down and figure it out yet. Thought I would run the whole show, but dividing it up is ok too. Thanks for not useing the 'ring again! I'll have something by tomarrow night. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll curse....

You're free to run the whole show, too. I don't mind taking turns like that. Just PLEASE no restrictions on tires.
Here we go...
GT4. Start by switching to "arcade" mode, I won't make you guys buy new cars...yet. You may use the "quick - tune" as you see fit, all tracks are run in normal.
Race 1: Pizza delivery. Neon SRT-4 George V Paris.
Race 2 : Lets get Dirty. Celica GT-4 RC. Catherdral Rocks 1
Race 3: The Flying Mullet. 1988 IROC Z Concept. Deep Forest
Race 4: Aussie Invasion. Holden Monaro CV8 Laguna Seca
Now switch back to Simulation and open your wallets.
Race 5: What would GRM drive? Build a Miata any way you want and race it at Trial Mountain.
Scoring: Races 1-4 1st 5pts, 2nd 3pts, 3rd 1pt.
Race 5 1st 7pts, 2nd 5pts, 3rd 3pts, 4th 1pt.
The gauntlet has been thrown down, you have till midnight Sunday the 14th to post your times.
How do you do quick tune? I own all these cars... is there a performance advantage to running these in the normal game? I've never messed with arcade.
What exactly is Quick Tune and what does it do, though?
I LOVE your choices, by the way... pretty diabolical.
I wanted to stick you guys with a C4 Vette and a Dodge Stratus, but they aren't in GT4. The A/C Cobra was high on the list too, but it has like, zero brakes. Even I'm not that mean... Once you're in Arcade mode, use the time trial function. Select car and track as normal. Just before you start, you''ll see the same icons you normally would. When you select the toolbox for making adjustments, you'll get the quick tuning menu.
There's a C4 vette in this game, by the way. I have two of them. Not sure why... guess i'll sell one. But it's there.
Thanks for the tip on the quick tuning... i guess i'll see what kind of damage i can do with it.
You are all boned when i pick the next challenge, though.
C4 Corvette Gransport. I don't honestly remember if it's available as a "new car" though.
I put Enkei RP01s on mine. Just 'cuz.
Found the Dodge Stratus, it's in GT2! Other finds there are the Neon ACR and R/T. Intrepid lives there too. Hey, the game was made in '99...
2 was good, but the graphics upgrade on the PS2 (for GT3) was worth it. GT4 isn't really a big improvment over 3 as I see it. New cars and tracks, but it feels more like an expansion rather than a new game. I'll have to play 3 for a bit and make sure my memory is correct. Played 2 a bit yesterday....
I have established some "STIG" times(B-Spec, the computer races for you) for arcade races 3 and 4.
Race 3- 1:34.241
Race 4-1:42.487
I even have a "stig" time for race 5. B-spec pulled 1:28.250 on my current Miata.
Opinions may differ, but I feel B-spec provides a good baseline number, FWIW.

It's a good baseline, yep. I use it to figure out my line of attack, then go from there. I can usually end up 10-15% faster myself, though.
My Miata is preped and I'm just shaving off time. When I realised that I was running street tires and switched to race rubber, I knocked off 12 seconds.
ok, after many hours of bouncing the controller off the wall and floor, here are my times:
Paris w/ STR-4 1:36.617
Cathedral w/ Celica GT-4 2:01.956
Deep Forest mullet machine 1:32.484
Laguna Seca w/ CV8 1:39.173
Trial Mountain 2000 Miata GRM build 1:19.973
With so little smack talk, I wonder if anyone is trying. Maybe it's just such a good, grueling competition that everyone is concentrating and waiting till the last second...
