My fantasy team autopicked him ad my #2 RB. Now I gotta find a new one.
Rice deserves to get cut, but it should have happened back in July, not now. The NFL and Ravens knew he hit his wife hard enough to knock her unconscious, based on the video of him dragging her out of the elevator. The new video doesn't show a new crime - just better footage of the original crime. I don't like the idea that the court of public opinion can sway the so-called "authorities" who have already meted out their punishment, even if that punishment was too light.

I think that the NFL realized soon after the 2-game suspension came out that they had berkeleyed up and it was too light. They took advantage of this "new information" to do what they should have done in the first place. Too little, too late, and the whole thing is a PR disaster for both the league and the Ravens.

That's exactly what I thought. As soon as this new video surfaced, they realized they could "right" their last mistake (2 game suspension).

So your against democracy and for autocrats?

Were we watching the same game? The problem wasn't Flacco's throwing, it was the receivers dropping the ball. And after watching Fosset run the ball I thought Rice's job was in jeopardy anyhow.

Keep it. Halloween is right around the corner and you know there is some stupid party you will get dragged to. Wear the jersey, and drag your wife around. All win.

When it shows they mishandled something as horrible as this, they had to do this.
In a year or two he will somehow be back on the gridiron and the public's short term memory for stuff like this will be hazey. You already see it by some of the posts here, some could give a rip that he beat up a woman like she was a guy, they are more concerned about their fantasy man child team.
In reply to Tralfaz:
I am against direct democracy and for a free republic. I am against double jeopardy and the enforcement of ex post facto laws and regulations. I would be for a benevolent autocrat, if such a thing existed. I am also for using correct homophones when arguing on the Internet.
well it's not just "how long will it take before another team picks him up" … since the NFL has suspended him indefinitely ….
but yeah, I agree with you … odds are we'll see him on some team again in the future
Datsun1500 wrote: I don't see it as double jeopardy. He's not being tried for a crime for the second time. I'm sure the contract has a provision for behavior that will hurt the franchise. He was on video dragging her out of the elevator and charged with domestic violence a few months ago. His punishment by the league for that was a 2 game suspension and a fine. The new video gets released today. The backlash from this video is now hurting the franchise again, and in a more dramatic way. His punishment for this is bring released from the league. The fact they it stems from the same night is not relevant.
keep in mind that he's not being "tried" for any crimes … don't confuse the NFL with law enforcement/the court system
this is a case of a company (the NFL, and a particular department of that company …. the Ravens)
the video of him hitting his (now) wife, wasn't made available to the league or the team … 'course anyone that didn't expect EXACTLY what was on this video is an idiot
but the original punishment from the league was based on what they had been told …. this video can be considered "NEW" evidence … resulting in the "punishment" being revisited and revised … the idea of double jeopardy doesn't come into play … double jeopardy is part of the legal system not part of the NFL … anything the league can get past the Players Association is fair game
the only reason he wasn't hit with an indefinite suspension in the first place is the fact that he's a star …. a 3rd string bench sitter would have been gone back in July

I pay almost zero attention to college football, but Ray Rice's back up was one of the very few Temple University guys in the NFL...Bernard Pierce.
<---- Temple alumni
To those who do have the jersey I would hold on to it because if you remember in the not too distant past there was a player with New England (Aaron Hernandez) that murdered people and new england opened up the pro shop to anyone who wanted to trade out jerseys.
Aside from that he gets what he deserves, just can't believe some of the people here in baltimore are still defending him?!?!
The NFL requested any and all info from the police... but never contacted the casino for the video per TMZ.
Did it just slip through the cracks? Blind eye?
Somebody dropped the ball.
Violent thugs gonna be violent thugs. Public and NFL have a high tolerance for them if they entertain us

well they have put up a statue to Ray Lewis ………….

I must have been watching the same game you were, 'cause all I saw was recievers dropping passes that were dead on. With really just ONE exception (the interception). And yeah, Fossett was doing a great job running the ball.
Don't follow football at all, couldn't care less about fantasy leagues etc (yeah I know, turn in my damn man card right now) but all I can think of is what Ike Turner said about being married to Tina Turner: 'I didn't beat her any more than the average guy beats his wife...' sick bastard.
So I guess hitting your fiancee once (and yes I know how hard of a hit it was) makes you an abuser for life?
