It's the story of the "Dale", a three wheeled gas sipper. It ended in disaster, murder and jail. If you have not seen it, or remember it, Liz turned out to be a he, not a she.
What I am trying to figure out, did they report this back then? I remember the story, but nothing about her being a transvestite, or trans. For those of you old enough to remember the story, did they report that back then? I don't remember that part of the story.
I remember reading about it in Car & Driver back around 1986 and they explained that part, but it was already an old story at that point.

I understand that it adds to an already salacious tale of fraudulent business dealings, but it seems in poor taste to be poking around at the personal life of someone who passed away in 2004.
I thought they told it more of a story, without hype. To me it was more of someone having a hidden criminal past. They said that possibly there might not have been fraud from the start, just a dream of the car. Certainly Liz told some major whoppers.
I couldn't make it more than 15 minutes into that show. It was like a poor Netflix show that wasn't up to Poor Netflix Show standards.

I was thinking the C&D story was maybe earlier than that, but yeah it was reported. I remember reading it too.
