Apparently people suck more than I thought

I am totally opposed to calling things "Hate Crimes".

I doesn't change that they exist, and gangs of people carving epithets into paint on 8 different occasions certainly qualifies.

Kids parrot things they see from their generation's given mass media...

I feel like this is a symptom of the type of lowbrow 'humor' that pervades car sub-reddits, and 4chan's /o/ being consumed by dumb children.

For those that didn't read the reddit link here's the start of his post:

hey guys, im 17 and have worked my ass off for 2 years to save up for my first car. i managed to save around 4300 to buy the exact NA miata i wanted. adult owned with 51k miles and original window sticker. anyways, i knew that the comments id get for owning a miata would come soon, but not like this. since the 2 weeks ive been driving my car to school, its been keyed 8 different times and the wipers snapped off twice. it also looks like someone took some sharp object and started stabbing at the rag top roof. all 8 key marks with different words such as "Fag" and "bitch boy ride" all over. i talked to my friends about it and they all just said "lol yeah thats what you get for owning a miata"

I'm surprised there is that many kids that care enough about cars to do this. I bet the people that are doing this didn't like this guy for other reasons, the Miata is just the thing that they are zeroing in on. When I was in high school if a guy drove a Miata he would have been made fun of, hell, all we ever did was make fun of each other, but his car wouldn't have been intentionally damaged unless some one had serious beef with the guy.

Heck, it is important and a sign of friendship to tease someone on their choice of car. But, and I quote Vincent Vega on this, you don't MESS with a man's car. That's just wrong.

I see no problem with beating the perpetrators with a lead pipe until the car is fixed, or they stop breathing, whichever comes first.

Gotta nip this crap in the bud.
