Today is peak of Apple blossom time. An absolute riot of whitish pink or is it pinkish white blossoms. Under some trees it’s looks like snow has fallen as early blossoms drift down.
I really miss the buzzing of the bees

Should be another 50 bushel year. I’ll get 10 the squirrels will eat 30 and bugs will get 10. I stopped spraying about 10-15 years ago when the bees started to reduce.
Not much for apples in Florida here, but i was in Minnesota and North Dakota this week and the trees were absolutely covered in white, pink and purple flowers. Beautiful weather too.

What I like about Apple trees is they tend to come in near the end of racing season. The last few races I go with bags of fresh picked apples to pass out to friends and fellow racers.
I like giving away Apples that are not commercially grown. Apples with really intense flavor, crispness, and juiciness. You can’t buy them in the store because a week after you pick them they aren’t crisp anymore.
Chestnut crab is like that. Ugly looking little Apple that’s yellow and brown with maybe a red blush. The worst thing is it’s fuzzy to the tongue
But one bite and you’re in love. You can’t believe the difference between these and commercially grown apples.
