Cell phone jammers are not uncommon at all. I think some were marketed to parents to put in their children's cars, wired to the ignition so they wouldn't talk/text and drive. If these things are cell based, that's probably what they are using.

Agree, they would have a hard time jamming the signal to the GPS receiver. But jamming the way (probably cellular) that info is transmitted back to the dispatcher is easier.

I missed this. We never solved the mystery as to what was happening, but it happens less often as the system has been upgraded, fewer components are accessible, and almost all of the buses have onboard cameras
