I am not looking to get a new product out there, I am looking at a specific career path. I already have one patent and three pending, my employer pays dearly for that service so my part is easy.
I know a patent attorney here in Ohio. I can give you his info, though I have not talked with him in a few years, just say you got to him through me. PM me if you want it.
I was a patent examiner at the USPTO but that was a long time ago. I can try and answer questions about the process or law but if you're looking for career advice as a patent attorney, I can't really help there.

You seem like a pretty good engineer, hope you are not thinking of leaving the profession.
My advice is to be really careful when you will pick the lawyer that will represent you in the court if you have to. It could ruin your life. This is what happened to a friend of mine. He was working with asbestos for a couple of times and that's why he got a lung disease. I told him to [just copy this canoe text like 8 times]
