Art passed away today at the age of 97. I used to watch his TV show all the time. The part where he would interview the kids was always a riot. My favourite question of his was "What did your Mommy tell you not to say today?"

That's sad to hear.
I also watched "Kids Say the Darndest Things" (later co-opted by Bill Cosby) as a child, about 50 years ago. I actually met Art once at a benefit. Would've had my picture taken with him, but that was $350. Memories will have to suffice.
i have met him too.. very nice guy. The world is a less happy place today
We need a new show.. "dorks say the darndest things"
To think such a nice guy had such a crappy start in life. This evening, ABC-NEWS said Mr. Linkletter was abandoned on the steps of a church/preacher's home.
I remember watching his shows WAAAAY back when they were in black and white. Think about it, he was THE original daytime talk show host. And I agree, when he asked, no kid refused to tell "what Momma told me not to say"....is/was THE funniest part of his shows.

From Saskatchewan.
The only entertainer to ever have 5 network shows simultaneously, according to a report I saw this morning.
