So my wife and I have a hard time figuring out what to get her dad for his birthday or Christmas. He really enjoys art and he really loves Chicago because he grew up there and he loves the atmosphere.
So I put two and two together and decided to make him a picture. This is a little different however because I'm making it completely out of card stock. Nothing a pair of scissors and an Exact-o knife can't help me through. It is going in a frame.
I'm not done with it yet, but it's coming along nicely. It will not be exact or to scale, but my plan is to have the skyline with the more recognizable buildings. I'm getting everything planned out before I glue it all down.
This is my progress so far:

That's pretty cool. I'm still proud of some of my old art work hung in my parent's house.

Nice, I like it, and I'm sure he will too!

The only comment I have is the fountain spray bugs me. Other than that, dopeness.

Yeah I don't love it, but I don't hate it, I was just trying to mimic when they open up that main jet.

Thanks guys. Took me about 2 weeks to complete with everything else going on around here.
Cutting all the buildings by hand was rather tedious.
Saw it on Instagram, looks great! Hope the wife doesn't steal it before you can gift it
