Rascism is discrimnating based on race. As in Newt's reference to blacks being the only ones on food stamps and by the OP who implies only blacks will vote for Obama this time around.

Your criticisms are legend and keenly focused on things "not to your standards", i.e., ideals and opinions you feel are lesser than yours. Perhaps it would be easier for you to quote yourself when you have praised or defended those with a "conservative" leaning. Surely there has been at least one time you've done so.

Gingrich said: “More people are on food stamps today because of Obama's policies than ever in history. I would like to be the best paycheck president in American history. ... And so I'm prepared if the NAACP invites me, I'll go to their convention and talk about why the African-American community should demand paychecks and not be satisfied with food stamps.”

Where did Gingrich state blacks as the only recipients of food stamps? His reference to the NAACP convention is relevant as that is (arguably) the most vocal and visible organization championing the plight of the impoverished. He would love the opportunity to espouse the advantages of earning a wage in lieu of being given a hand-out.

What he loves even more is the reaction of those who insist his positions are "racist"; it makes them appear more entrenched and intransigient than he. You're getting played and beat harder than the guitars and drum kit at the end of '60's Who concert.

I won't even try to defend Poopie's post. I don't know him and he's very capable of explaining his position. However, I see nothing there that insinuates that blacks are the only voters will vote for the President.

In reply to oldsaw:

"Aside from black folk, is anyone really still EXCITED to vote for this ass hat?"

Nothing that insinuates racism there...

Then there is Newt-he said he would go to the NAACP convention and explain “why the African-American community should demand paychecks and not be satisfied with food stamps.”

Why then didn't he say that Americans should demand paychecks? But he didn't, he specifically said African Americans.

But whatever helps you sleep at night.

Cone_Junky wrote: As in Newt's reference to blacks being the only ones on food stamps...

Nice sensationalist comment. Too bad it's not true.

What Gingrich ACTUALLY said was:

Newt Gingrich said: "I'm prepared, if the NAACP invites me, I'll go to their convention and talk about why the African American community should demand paychecks and not be satisfied with food stamps,"

Frankly, that's a comment (by itself without the sensationalist lies) which I can agree with.

The true shame is how one party in particular would rather ENSLAVE them by giving them food stamps and welfare and NOT help them demand and EARN real paychecks. Pathetic. Disgusting.

Cone_Junky wrote: Rascism is discrimnating based on race.

Actually, it's not. That's another modern lie.

Racism is the systematic oppression of a people group based on race. It includes the concept that one race is superior and has the right to rule others.

Discrimination is making a distinction in favor of or against, a person based on the group, class, or category to which that person belongs rather than on individual merit.

Bigotry is the complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one's own.

Your reference to Mr. Gingrich's comment would be a bigoted comment if it had actually ever been said. Since it wasn't, it is just a lie.

Cone_Junky wrote: I just can't wait for the general election. This thread absolutely supports the fact that ignorance and racism is the base of the GOP.

That comment is an exceptional example of bigotry and discrimination. Thank you for the clear example.

Cone_Junky wrote: Sickening. Absolutely sickening

Sigh.

First paragraphs of the linked story.

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- South Carolina Rep. Tim Scott, the Tea Party favorite who has been angling to play an influential role in the Republican presidential race, predicts Newt Gingrich will win the Palmetto State primary on Saturday.

"There's no question: Newt. I think Newt will probably finish first in South Carolina, as of the information I have now," Scott said Friday. His assessment came in a brief interview with RealClearPolitics as the freshman lawmaker made his way to one of the many television appearances he has scheduled around this coastal city on the eve of voting.

Mr. Scott's picture:

Yep, he's a member of that ol' racist Tea Party. I bet the next thing you will post is some crack about Al Jolson.

All kidding aside, forming a militia and taking things by force is an awesome economic strategy if your side has all the guns.

I was pointing to what happens in a completely unregulated society. It quickly becomes regulated by the people with all of the power.

Likewise, a completely unregulated economy might quickly become a cluster of monopolies. I'm not an economic expert, but it seems like history has shown this to be the case in the past.
