Had pancakes for breakfast this morning. Pleased to report that I did not choke to death.
I've never been a big fan of contests either since I found out about my shellfish allergy about halfway through a clam eating contest. I will still watch the Nathan's Hot Dog Contest if I stumble across it though.
You guys know you're joking about someone's daughter dying, right? And not even a "hey y'all, watch me beer bong this fifth of vodka" either. Some days you guys make me shake my head.

I couldn't love GRM the magazine or the website more, and believe me, I don't like to be the P.C police or anything or the guy who has a problem with everything thing, but I do have a problem with this... I find it a bit offensive that you use terms like “choking" and "gag-reflex" for your little descriptions or whatever in the discussions. I myself do not like maple syrup, but I feel sensitivity for people who do, as I am a student living among them, and my Girlfriend is pursuing her masters in the field.
These terms although I'm pretty sure are not even real words, are obviously meant to resemble the words used to describe people who dont chew each bite 30 times like their mother taught them, and it appears that they are used on these boards in a joking sense which, as I view it, makes light of people who are unable to separate ironic humor from actual ill-will

Actually, in medic school (and, I'm guessing, nursing school is probably the same) we were taught not to use that. It really causes more damage and has a low success rate. The best thing to do, really, is let the person pass out from O2 starvation, then begin CPR. Though, that nursing student should've known her ABCs (Airway-Breathing-Circulation) as in, get your airway clear first.

It's another way of saying "lighten up Francis". Dark humor can just be humor.

Thank you. I would have never known the threads contained inside existed, and they deserve to be recognized.
And wow have a bunch of you been around a long time.

Well I kind of wondered, but it went on a bit. I was trying to figure out if your girlfriend was getting a Masters in gagging, choking or maple syrup.
I believe the very first instance of that text was posted as a serious response to someone using the vernacular for someone afflicted with mental retardation as slang.
