JDs old Volvo produced yet another coin the other day, but I don't know how to spend this one. It's some sort of token for some bridge. It says "triborough bridge and tunnel..." on one side and "marine henry hudson cross bay" on the other. My wife saw that these typically sell for 2-3 million*, I mean, about seven bucks, on ebay. This one has some green on it from sitting under a seat or wherever for however many years. Any budding coin type people want it? Maybe a new coin collector in the fam? Let me know, I'll send it to you.
*If anyone desires to pay some number of millions for this coin, I will gladly accept.
Does it count towards a challenge budget?

The Triborough, the Marine Parkway, the Henry Hudson, and the Cross Bay Veterans Memorial are all bridges located in the NY city area managed by the Metropolitan Transit Authority.
Value 3-4 (cough..million..cough) dollars.
Jimmy Hoffa was reported to have that coin on him when he went missing. Did you look under the seat and in the trunk?
I am trying to give this thing away, surely someone has a thing for weirdo tokens, around this place it seems there is someone for every weirdo whatever.

When I saw subject line, I was sure the that a reference to particular watercraft would be post number two.
Hang on to it, ya never know when you'll have to drive to New York.
I like weird old coins and stamps, if you're trying to find a home for it.
Do they not use bridge tokens anymore? I've used EZPass for years, but figured some people still used tokens. I've got a Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission token from the 80's around here somewhere. I'll send to highest bidder, shipping included. No bids below $50. please.
EDIT: I see that the commission stopped refunding cash for unused tokens back in '05 and apparently stopped accepting them at bridges in 2003 or so. Who knew?

uhmm... no.
Why not? It was part of the car when you bought it. Are you not allowed to include "change found under the driver's seat" or "sale of dick pictures found in a Miata" in the budget?

Mostly because it's not a challenge car.

I think I have a few Equadorian escudos somewhere. If I see them again they're yours.

Every Harbor Freight tool eventually becomes a hammer, and every car eventually becomes Challenge material.
It's the law.

Mine kindof went backwards. My Challenge Material became a Daily Driver.

I doubt it, including purchase price and parts, I'm up to well over three grand and it wouldn't stand a chance at any of the events. I'd start again.

The Bridges in NY stopped taking tokens shortly after EZ Pass came out.
