AutoNation Direct

Does anybody have any experience selling a car through AutoNation Direct? I am considering selling my truck and was given a offer VIA online that I felt was reasonable, I am going to call them this afternoon and follow up to see what is the deal.

So I talked to them on the phone, they have a "guarantee price", but they have a appraiser come out to look at the vehicle, they confirm the price then you have to sign over the title and you do not receive the payment for 3-5 business days. Not sure if I like signing the title over without the money. Still waiting to hear if anybody else has worked with them before.

Let us know how it goes, I haven't heard of this but if it works out it might be a decent way to sell a vehicle.

seems like a "not at the dealership" version of what Carmax does. Looking forward to hearing your results

I've done this with USAA Car Selling service. It wasn't an AutoNation dealer but it took forever to get my money. USAA had to get involved and I believe they ended up revoking their affiliation with the dealership.

I just left AN last week, I did not hear complaints from sellers about this program.

Just a update, autovin appraised the vehicle I signed over the title and am now awaiting money and vehicle pickup. I will update once I receive the money and they pick up the car. My only complaint so far it is nearing a month, so they are not good on the timing element.

UPDATE: On the 29th they appraised the vehicle and confirmed the guarantee amount. I signed over the title to the vehicle. The vehicle was picked up on the 30th the check takes 3-5 business days to processes. I wasn't to keen on them picking up the vehicle before I received the check, I will continue to call them to check the status.

Update: Received the check on Monday and cashed it today, as long as the check clears, the overall processes was good and may check into selling another vehicle to them.

Cool. My offer came in almost $2200 less than carmax so I sold it to carmax instead.
